Google Suggest gives advice while you typing in the search box. It generates a dynamic drop-down list containing popular search strings according to the keyword/keywords you entered.
As Google said, the feature can remind you with some similar search keywords, can avoid spelling errors and save time of course.
I think the advantage is that sometime you can get more accurate or specific keywords from the list. But the big disadvantage is that all the suggested queries will be staring from the words you typed, that is, when you typed "Olympics", Google would suggest "Olympics 2008", but never could be "Beijing Olympics 2008"
Some people also found it annoying to be interrupted when start typing, and you can no longer access the auto-complete feature.
Here comes a way to disable the Google Suggest:
First, open the Google preferences page.
Then, scroll down and find Query Suggestions, choose your preferred option their.
Save Preferences to take effect.
