Upgrade Firefox to 3.5

The award-winning web browser Firefox has released version 3.5 final for public download.

The noticeable improvement for the new verision in speed, the official Mozilla web site states that "Firefox 3.5 is more than twice as fast as Firefox 3, and ten times as fast as Firefox 2." Other features include Private Browsing, HTML5 support etc.

If you are using the old version or CA of 3.5, it is time to upgrade now!

What’s New in Firefox 3.5 (Release Candidate)

Firefox 3.5 (Release Candidate) is based on the Gecko 1.9.1 rendering platform, which has been under development for the past year. Firefox 3.5 offers many changes over the previous version, supporting new web technologies, improving performance and ease of use, and adding new features for users:

  • This release candidate is now available in more than 70 languages – get your local version.
  • Improved tools for controlling your private data, including a Private Browsing Mode.
  • Better performance and stability with the new TraceMonkey JavaScript engine.
  • The ability to provide Location Aware Browsing using web standards for geolocation.
  • Support for native JSON, and web worker threads.
  • Improvements to the Gecko layout engine, including speculative parsing for faster content rendering.

VLC media player is turning into 1.0.0 soon. As announced on their news channel, the new version of the featured VLC media player will get released early next week.

The best part that makes VLC stand out is that the program can be used not only as a media player, but also a converter or a stream server.
